Deniss Zolotarjovs was mostly tasked with putting pressure on the Russia-based crew’s victims, in one case leaking hundreds of children’s health records.

The case is believed to be the first time that government officials in any country have been jailed for doing business with NSO Group.

Winner has served 34 months of a 63-month sentence. There have been numerous other similar requests throughout the U.S. criminal justice system.
