He’s the latest Democrat who sits on an appropriations panel to sharply criticize CISA personnel reductions and proposed funding cuts.

The state’s AG vowed to defend the prosecution of Tina Peters, an election clerk behind one of the most serious breaches of voting systems in U.S. history.

Requests to block federal agencies from sharing federal data with states and to condition federal election funding were denied by Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly.

The order seeks to withhold federal funding from states that don’t comply, sparking a heated backlash from legal and election experts.

Critics said the decision creates broad uncertainty among other stakeholders who work to protect elections.

The moves happened Thursday and Friday last week, per a source.

The IC said Moscow-directed actors and other countries could threaten election officials with violence to disrupt vote counting and certification.

The individuals allegedly used spearphishing and malware to target the accounts of “dozens” of current and former U.S. officials. 

The changes would permit federal candidates and current officeholders to use campaign funds to pay for software, devices and services and cover family members and campaign staff.

The report gave CISA high marks for its election security work but raised questions about a lack of strategic guidance from DHS.
