Absolute Security’s Steven Tipton on visibility gaps that remain when it comes to zero trust

During the 2025 Zero Trust Summit, Steven Tipton, federal and strategic accounts senior sales engineer at Absolute Security, talked about government agencies’ progress in achieving real-time visibility of users and devices on government networks. Tipton noted that while many agencies have made strides in their zero-trust initiatives, there’s still a lack of uniformity and visibility, especially with endpoints, IoT, unmanaged devices, and personal devices. He believes AI will significantly aid data analysis and network monitoring, although it raises privacy concerns. 5G and 6G’s potential to enhance real-time visibility and network segmentation was also discussed, as well as the importance of cloud security for managing devices that haven’t connected in a while.
