Three justices wrote in a dissent that longstanding privacy laws protecting sensitive personal data held by the government should prevent the use of the database.

Provisions setting up federal voter lists for each state and restricting mail ballots through USPS were declared unconstitutional.

A judge said the administration’s database violates the Privacy Act, the Social Security Act and the Administrative Procedures Act.

The Senate Democrat said that the SSA following Trump’s executive order would indicate “willing participation” in the administration’s midterm elections scheme.
